Airbag light won't go away.

My airbag light has been flashing for some time now. I read on another thread about some trick where you open the door and push the button 5 times in 7 seconds. How exactly does this work? I tried some long way where you turn the ignition on and off and wait for 7 seconds etc. I'm not sure it applies to my '95 G20.

It will work if you FIX the problem and have to reset the light. Your light is flashing because your AIRBAG MODULE is bad. Replacing it is the only way to make it go off
I'm about to buy a 99 G20 with the airbag light as well.

The owner's friend said that the car's airbag light is on because they had the driver seat replaced...

What would that have to do with anything?
or just get a solid airbag light if you remove the system.. lol

Nothing. The owner's friend doesn't know what he is talking about. You need to have the diagnosis from an Infiniti or Nissan dealer before you buy the car. Do not make an expensive mistake. This is a critical safety system. If they will not allow you to get the car looked at, then run, not walk, away from this car. Air bag light could be on because of failed air bag module, failed sensor, or missing air bag.
The SRS light only flashes when the module itself is bad. If it was a failed sensor it would just stay on solid

Thanks for the advice, I'll try to take it into a shop or something tomorrow.

The airbag light was flashing.
I am having this same problem. How much is the module and can I replace it myself or will some diagnostics have to be determined first to find out which airbag had been deployed? I bought my car a few weeks ago. I have a 1000 mile or 30 day drivetrain warranty. Not sure how many miles I've driven. Of course, I can go outside and figure that one out in a minute, but... Aren't there serious laws about selling a car who's airbags have been deployed without informing the buyer or does it fall on me?
Ha haaaa, I really wouldnt recommend replacing it yourself. Its not that the bad has been deployed its that the system has detected an internal malfunction in the module. Like it WONT deploy in case of an accident or a bad connector connection. There's a recall on the Titan's for the module and an updated harness.
can I buy a used module or is that unwise?
Driver air bag module: $1020.00
Passanger air bag module $ 1230.00
Side air bag module (left or right) $520.00ea
Side air bag sensor $320ea

These are all retail dealer prices!
When I say dont do it yourself I mean dont do any of it, dont buy anything dont attempt anything, just let a professional take care of this
^ listen to the man.sometimes its best to leave it to the profesionals. these newer cars are bound to have these problems. you may just have a bad connection and not need to spend 1000+ dollars.
That's what I was afraid of. I'm not prepared to spend that much money at this time. I appreciate all of your feedback and will get around to having a professional look at it someday.
Isn't there connections under the seats that could be loose...Or is that just P11's?
well i replaced my whole airbag system in my p10t.. got it from Chris..thanks buddy all for veryy lowww loww price like 1/16th of factory.. the airbag light was solid before.. after replaceing.. both airbags, airbag sensors, airbag computer, seat belts, clockspring the light flashs now.. My buddies at nissan said they can reset the light and after it resets it shouldn;t come back on again unless the circuit is not complete meaning there is a problem basically... hopefully there is nottt. it took me all day basicallyy and replacing the passenger airbag correctly and carefully is a b*tchhhh i had my whole interior out except for the dash board and the back seats.. i needed something to sit on..
i have changed airbags and modules on many cars before the main thing is to have your ignition on off and for added safty take the cables off your battery. My brother had a collision shop and they changed the airbags all the time and i do not recal a single time when anything went wrong. if the airbags have been deployed before and you hook up new airbags to it a light will go on it wont just automatically deploy them again. but it is best to check your sensors first and then your module

Yeah but your brother had a collision shop. They're professionals there, its what they do.
Sorry for bringing up this old thread but I hope it will help other's who sees this comment. I've also got the airbag light on my Infiniti and tried fixing it myself. I did a research on google and saw an article "Troubleshooting Infiniti Airbag Light On" by YOUCANIC site. This helped article helped me fix the problem, it was a damage wiring on the crash sensor.
