alt. junk yard find

well i had a remand alternator in my car and even though it passed at autozone and a local rebuild shop it would still not charge my battery. so after not being able to find an OEM unit on line I decided to go my local yard and hopefully find one, well one p10 with alt. already gone. so as i was heading out i saw one on a motor from an early maxima, fwd V6 it looked similar in every way and it was and OEM unit, i did try to check the part number and with no luck and it being hot, i pulled it walk over to the p10 and it fit. all connectors fit as well so i bought it. came home matched both alternators side by side only difference was this guy, black piece in my hand.

i swapped them over and installed. tested battery voltage, then with car on, then with everything on (ac full bast, stereo on, all lights on) everything checked good, drove it for the last two days, no issues no lights on.

will get the pn off the alternator and post it. I installed it before writing it down.

just though id share.

I think that's where you bolt a ground/positive wire

I think the altima ones work too. Its somewhere on the forum.

20 bucks. Cheap indeed.....but mine worked you always take a chance with junkyard parts. Some might be bad.

From the research ive done, any vq30de alt will work (maxima/I30). Although, some have different output ratings. Ive seen some are 110amp and others come 125amp. I plan on getting a high output 250amp version so we will see how that goes.

Let me know when you acquire one. I have a B15 alternator, but im thinking about upping the ampage.

Thanks for the input on the alternator. I have a 2K G20 with the original alternator still working like a champ but I know it will not last forever.
