OK. After searching the forum, I found 5 people with similiar problems.

When the brake light and battery light are on during acceleration and then I hit the brakes, the tach and speedo drop then go back to normal.

The car does not have any dash lights, radio memory is lost, and clock is not working when the car is not running, but in accessories setting.

Turn the car on, gas it and everything starts to work again.

When running I am getting between 15.3 and 16.5 volts. When not running, the battery is around 12.3 volts.

Is this the ALTERNATOR or the BATTERY or a bad connection somewhere.

After $180 for the alternator and some frustration I come to find out it is just a damn fusible link. It is located in the drivers side fender casing near the battery and is the BATTERY 75A link that goes to the alternator plug. The 30A link was fine. It also goes to the alternator plug, but made it through the ordeal.

I grounded the alternator when I was torqueing my header down. See I did not disconnect the battery when doing this. ACK!

What a DUMB ASS!
