So my car has had a slight stumble for awhile now.. at WOT it runs fine..but at partial throttle it would stumble now and then. Over time it's been getting worse.

I have a VE in a 96 P10, and a Innovate wideband o2 sensor. The issue was the wideband (which I have a narrow band output I wired into my factory o2 sensor wires to the ecu).

What tipped me off was at constant throttle the WB said I was good for my AFR but the car would stumble.. (the issue has progressively been getting worse). So I tried a WB test that UNISA JECS suggested in Savag's thread, and sure enough my WB sensor is toast.

To help with this, I used my Calum RT to tell my ecu to ignore the o2 feedback, I disabled it. The car ran ok after that (not great, but it didn't buck and kick anymore). Thanks to Dave at Tunercode for the inputs on what memory address to change. :)

I've ordered a new WB sensor, when it comes in, I'll change my ecu to start using the o2 feedback again. I just thought this might come in useful for someone in the future..

Cool deal. Any idea why these sensor die?
I don't know? Based on what Innovate told me, if you have a high boost application it can cause it to go out faster.. other than that if you've got a setup like mine, they said is should last about as long as a standard o2 sensor.

hey care sharing those address's?
Eno, if you're using tunerpro and have the XDF defined for the address E038, you would switch it from F1 to D1.

This is why I have a 2nd bung for my WB setup, so its seperate from my stock o2 :D.

*runs away*
LOL! No need to run away (you know I'll catch you anyway Jon) :lick:

The reason I'm only running the one is, my understanding is the WB sensors are supposed to warm up faster, and could possibly give better mpg.. plus it was a clean install.

Though, I wouldn't mind moving mine down under the car, because currently I only get like exhaust ports 1 and 4 I think.. I'm not getting the exhaust from the other two.. if the sensor was further down stream I would be monitoring the output from all 4 in one pipe.

Maybe sometime in the future?

Dangit. :naughty:

Yeah I've heard mixed things, mine is under the car near the collector so it reads all 4.

Its one of those, next time you ever have the header off, heh.

More like, whenever Charles makes his new header design and sells me one!! :)

Savag, I don't know the answer to your question? I think someone posted something in your thread about not having the WB too close to the exhaust housing, because it could cause the WB sensor to get too hot or something? But I really don't know.
