Has anyone here had any experience in making their own real carbon fibre mouldings? I am toying with the idea of some interior trim 'enhancement' but want to avoid the fake stuff if possible.
What will I need? Resin? Adhesives? Lots of money??!!

Any input much appreciated.

good plan mate,

Let me know if you come up with anything as I'd be interested in that myself.

hello there. thanks for the props yahnoza. yeah, i have done some carbon work. all of it has been with a sheet of "decorative" carbon. the stuff is pre-hardened and in very straight lines. i got it from a tap plastics store. here is the link to the stuff on their website: http://www.tapplastics.com/fiberglass/fiberglass_fabrics/169_carbon_fiber.html

i also bought some resin from them. it is in two parts, and you mix them equally. i used a shot glass to mix in. the stuff is pretty simple to work with, just a bit difficult to cut. you can check out some of the stuff i made by clicking the link in my signature. have fun.

Thanks!! Good work on your carbon mods too - very nice.

Just need to track down a supplier here in the UK now...
