Sorry, depending on the family history, carpet fallout will occur. Some times the carpet will turn gray, then fallout. Try a carpet transplant: take carpet from a hidden good spot and place in the thinning spot. Also, only use a good quality carpet shampoo that cleans all the way down to the roots. Sometimes, with proper care, the carpet will reappear. :beard: :-\ :lol:

Joking aside, I have not had this happen on my G but it did start on the floor mats of my Acura. It is like the carpet dry rotted and just fell out in spots. It did not show any "wearing" out, just pieces coming off like hair falliing out. I can only guess at the cause: a spill of some sort - soda maybe, intense UV rays in spots, water/salt melt off from shoes, etc.
