seriously, its the friggin air tube that runs from the TB to the Air box. My car is a 1999 g20 and apparently mid year the switched the air tube from part number 7j100 to 7j400...well 7j400 doesn't fit my car...why do you ask... I have 3 vacuum lines running to my air hose where-as the 7j400 part only has 2. that is the difference.

Well needless to say I have called and ordered with false hope only to have to RMA parts because I get the 7J400 part and not the 7J100. or i get the "we regret to inform you email" stating that they no longer carry it. So what are my options other than an ebay POS or weapon R intake? I'd like to keep the damn thing stock as to avoid any drivability issues since its my DD but apparently my hand is being forced .

so.. options?

Find it used, or get a cheap short-ram intake instead. I do not believe anyone makes that part anymore.

i have been searching for a used one also it seems as this is quite an illusive part. My only problem with a short ram intake is possible drivability issues asides from the fact that i am sucking hot air from the engine bay

I ran a short ram for years... what drive-ability issues are you referring to?

Look for part-outs or in junkyards.

i have heard horror story's of crazy idling car not starting etc with the G20. may I ask what kind you are running and where you got it? Also, I don't think I have a choice though i called 2 junkyards and so far zip.

The most important thing is that whatever the hose is that runs from the TB to the Air box it needs to have 3 nipples on it if that makes sense. i am fairly certain that two of the inlets on the main air tube are some sort of oil return from the PVC system. so if that is the case I may be able to couple them together to go into the same fitting

The reasons the idle or not starting issues would happen is because of air leaks in the "accordion" tube which is AFTER the Mass Air Flow sensor. All of the nipples you are referring to are for vacuum.

You can always try Japan. A lot of parts get discontinued here, but are still available there....the 99 P11 was in production from 96 there.

I like to use jp-carparts.com or amayama.com

so heres an idea, would it be possible to couple those two hoses into a tee fitting then us the single nipple on the new hose? one runs from the catch can device (Square black box) the othe one that sits closes to the MAF loops around the back of the motor

precisely, that is one of the issues I am having. I have a stumble from time to time, also the old hose is fused to the TB as it has started to deteriorate. when I try to pry it it starts to crack. so it I take it off it will be done. it is so dryrotted it has shrun and became brittle.

yea it appears that I am going to have to get creative with a solution for this. I found an aftermarket pipe that has all three nipples on it in close to the stock locations however it is metal so I am not sure if it will dissipate heat as well as the rubber one does. it looks as if the aftermarket or fashioning some sort of coupler are my only options. does anyone know where that first hose I circled goes too. (the one closest to the MAF in the pic)

Mine is all dryrotted as well and my accordian part ripped all the way through and I had to use about 4 rolls of electrical tape to try to make it run good again and it works for now at least but I am trying to find a permanant fix. My failure made the whole car buck and almost die until i got up to about 25 mph

buy the new pipe missing the nipple and vent the valve cover to the atmosphere. It's just like back in the day when everyone would stick those tiny little filters on their valve cover.
