Driver side headlamp out even with new bulbs

I tried searching but didn't find anyone that had this occurrence.

Passenger side headlamp blew back in September. Replaced them with Sylvania Silverstar Ultras? (Orange package), both bulbs. Two months later, driver side bulb no longer come on. No low beams or high beams. This had me worried because normally the high beam should still work. Replaced the bulb on the drivers side and it still wouldn't come on. I heard the Silverstar Ultras run really hot and am worried that the headlamp wires are fried and needs a rewire. Anyone heard of this issue? Car's pretty old (99 P11 w/ 260k miles) so not terribly surprising... Will have to check the fuses but in past experience, if the headlamp fuse blew, both neither headlamps should be functional? Passenger side works fine.

Sounds like a wiring issue or the bulb holder.

Had the same problem with mine. Yes the Silverstars get hot. I found that I had to change out the connectors to both sides to make sure I didn't have the same problem later. Advance Auto has a universal connector that worked great. Just make sure it's for the H-3's and get yourself some shrink tubing to mend the splice.
