Egr temp sensor problem

Ok guys I have a problem. Wife took her car in to meineke. Check engine light came one when she got home. Its the egr temp sensor. Ok no problem pretty straight forward right? Wrong! Those damn idiots cut the wires to the sensor. The wires coming from the ecu were cut before the connector. Now I have no idea where the red and the black wire connect. I know its a 50/50 shot soldering them back on though lol. Looks like the sheathing came off as well. Becayse every picture I see has a sheathing on it. I would really like to know which side to solder which wire.
Car is 2001 infiniti g20 with the sr20de motor if that helps. Thank you guys for any help on this.
