engine swap

Hello G20 Members,

I had a question about doing a engine swap:monkey:, I tried to use the search botton no dice. So my question is what engine will fit in my 2002 infiniti g20 besides the SR20DE(I know that's that stocker, I'm a Rookie:naughty:, take it easy on me). I looked on a couple of findings on G20, and see all kinds of diffrent types of engine's. All I want is something that will plug and play:hurt:, also, non-turbo engine, and have good gas milage. Or should I just stick with the stocker:asian:(SR20DE)?

Thanks,

SR20VE and VQ35DE

neither of which are plug n play. Search up on those two.

So SR20VE and VQ35DE will not be a plug and play? If that's the case I wouldn't want to do a swap with those engine's.
QR25DE

....you never said it had to be better than the sr20. Only what fits.
the only plug and play engine for your car is the engine that it came with.

Damn, gonna have to stick with the stocker then.

Thanks for your input and taking the time to read my post, and everyone else.
I seen your post about burning oil. I say ride this one for awhile and save your pennies. Except for what you spend on adding oil. By the time you get totally sick of adding oil or you just happen to forget, you will have enough for a swap. I do believe the VE would be the cheapest route.
VE Cheaper than a stock RR?

even if you can get the VE at a cheaper price...it would cost more to make it work in a 00+

He is talking about getting a different engine.

Thanks brother, just outta curiosity that VE(I believe your talking about SR20VE engine) swap would be cheaper, what model should I get? Well I mean year, is there a ot I would have to do as it's not a "plug and play"?
Any SR20DE longblock will be plug and play, 2000+ RR SR20DE's will be the easiest. 1999 and older SR20DE engine longblocks will also work, but you will need to swap your intake manifold from your current SR20DE RR and all of the sensors to the non RR motor.

SR20VE uses all of the same engine mounts and will bolt up to your transmission, but you will need to swap all of the sensors, you will need to find something to modify the tune, and you will need to find something to activate the VVL.

VQ35DE and any other engines will require you to fabricate or purchase custom engine mounts plus converting the entire engine harness to work with your cars current main harness, and is almost completely pointless unless you have specific plans for a custom build.

What about the SR20DET, would that still be an upgrade in a p11 or would it be better to go straight to turbo?
SR20DET is a turbo engine.
Holy necro-post revival batman.
