A good tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Maybe a good dose of seafoam. Also a general inspection to see what other things might be aging.
Response is above^^^first of all welcome.. I can see that you are interested in getting your car to run as best as it can, but does the car currently have any issues that does not allow it run well? are there any types of vibrations or hesitations that are causing any conserns? Are you just looking to do a simple tune up on the car? these cars are very reliable and need very minimal attention. Is your car automatic or 5speed? If you are looking for suspension and jdm duals i would suggest to look in the For Sale section of the forum.. they usually pop up there. Good Luck.
Response is above ^^^Nice to see a new member taking the initiative,
Like roblop said, is there anything on the car that causes concern? if not, then just change as u go.
If the car hasnt had tune up for a while thats a good place to start, make sure for the tune-up you use all oem parts. And Probably the best advice your going to get is when you can, just use oem parts. This includes UCA's, LCA's, Axles (critical to use oem), All tune up components (NGK or OEM are the same for plugs and wires), Wheel Bearings, etc...
Thats cool that u want to mod her too, but dont give into the hype about slamming your car.
And lastly, as a newb, ull hear alot of suggestions where typically u can find cheaper alternatives. But everyone here typically says the same more expensive alternative for a reason: It Works.
Enjoy, and post pics of the car plz!
Response is abovvvveee ^^^if it was only your passenger lower control arm that went bad, you might want to check to see if your high pressure powersteering hose is leaking. they're notorious for it and will eat up the rubber on the lca in no time.
Where do you live? Im pretty sure there is someone from the forum that lives close to you.. go to the members ride section and post pics of your car.. you have come to a great community and there are many members here that are willing to help out.. 99% of the time for free. The vibration that you are feeling is it when you shift gears, when you reach a certain speed like 40-60 mphs, when the car is standing still? Can you give us some clues on what it does.. it could be many things.. motor mounts, bushings, etc. Im kind of surprised to see a girl wanting to take care of her car.. no offence.. lolYeah its got a vibrating noise coming from under the hood I've been told by many people its nothing serious. Like a motor mount or a loose bushing but they didn't seem too concerned. I'm worried myself. Because its my baby and they never drive her so they cant understand my pain. I can feel it in the gas pedal. And it sometimes gets worse when pushing in the clutch. I can hear it inside the car mostly. Very rarely outside..other than that. just want to lower it a bit. Not slammed. XD there's just too much room between right now. She's a manual. Someone also told me the driver side control arm was shit..but another said it was fine. I guess its all a matter of personal prefrence and all..but..I dunno. Sucks not knowing anyone who is as intrested in cars as I am.
Yeah well ill post pics of me and my car later for proof. Yeah I'm really a car enthusiast mt favorite being the skyline. And subarus have a bit of a place in my intrest as well as old e30s. Porsche and audis.Where do you live? like mentioned above alot of friendly helpful people here,
just so some research 1st, if you have a question im sure its been answered before!
post some pics of your peeleven!
That would be nice thanks for the tip!Yea sometimes it's hard to diagnose where the vibrations are coming from. P11s are starting to get old so replacing worn out stuff should be on your to do list. Motor mounts, LCA, ball joints, wheel bearings, and axle boots if they are torn. Also, I really recommend Unisa Jecs delrin xmember and subframe bushings. I just installed these and it's a large improvement over the stock setup. My car corners better, it's smoother over bumps, and shifts are a lot smoother.
