G20 2000 Manual Trans: Infiniti OEM CV AXLE or buy a non OEM?

Hey Guys,

My CV boots are ripped, the CV axles are fine no noise, no clicking sound when turning, no vibrations. Here's my question is the Infiniti CV axle worth it? I asked the dealership and they're charging me for $680 a piece now I went on searching amazon and I found this:

http://www.amazon.com/NI95019500A-front-Left-Right-Pair/dp/B007Y5LAOY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376960279&sr=8-6&keywords=infiniti+g20+2000+cv+axle

I've reading some complaints about third party rebuilt parts or remanufactured parts, things like vibrations and noise etc... are the issues.

Anyone here recommend a non oem parts that work and perform as the Infiniti OEM?

Thanks.

If there is no noise yet, i would just reboot them.

Personally I wouldn't pay $680 for an axle... Aftermarkets are ok but some notice a shake, particularly on acceleration.

I have me aftermarket now and it's fine. Oddly I had a shake and eventually it went away.

How hard is it to do a REBOOT? Shall I buy the same NISSAN\INFINITI boots?
If you are mechanically inclined its not hard - you have to remove the axle. It's also messy due to the grease.

Infiniti seall a boot kit $36 each includes a grease.... I need 4, this equates to $150 approx. amazon sells two axles for this price range, do you know any good 3rd party brands? I am hearing about Raxles and EMPI.
I just ordered my 2 front axles they are EMPI I have heard great things about them from forum members. My total after shipping for the 2 front lsd axles was 161.82. i ordered from rockauto.com
is it already installed? Please let me know if you're getting noise, harshness and vibrations.,
We used EMPI in our former g20 race car with great success for 5.5 years (much better than rebuilt ones from cardone FWIW)
the $12 boot kits from amazon are good. i have used them at least 4 times and no issues yet. snap ring pliers are a HUGE help. normally i hate to spend money on specialized tools that i will only use once or twice but the 1st 2 boots i did without the pliers and i had a friend helping and it took HOURS. the second time i did it alone with snap ring pliers and it took 20 minutes. if possible try to get the boots that come with the metal ring clamps that dont require a crimp tool, it will save you another $20 on a tool you will only use once.

rebooting is fine just make sure you have something to clean out the old grease with and be careful not to contaminate the new grease with dirt.
If you buy new axles, I'll buy your OEM's.
