Well it seems that clearing my corners and making a custom front mesh grille weren't enough for me. I'm now moving into my engine bay for my next DIY mod. That crusty old lump of metal know as the valve cover is getting old so I wanna bring some life back into it. I read a couple of posts already about people who painted the VC but I don't want a color... I want the nice shiny bling-bling chrome!

So I go to various auto stores and paint stores looking for the engine enamel paint but I can't find it in chrome?!?... so how do I get it chrome if there's no paint? is it something that has to be done professionally? G20 SPORT 2002 got any hints you can give me?

Chroming it is a process in itself...you can get the same *look* by polishing the valve cover but be prepared to do some serious work on it. Go here

It gives you a step by step on how to polish a valve cover. My suggestion, buy another VC to do the work on, this way you can take your time and do it right.

If you decide to chrome the VC you will have to polish it or get it polished. Thats the basis for a good looking chrome job.

Good Luck....

Here's another short write up on it. I tried this. Be prepared to make a HUGE mess and use up a lot of spare time. =)
I found it MUCH easier in the end to have the valve cover powdercoated :p Does anyone happen to know off the top of their head if there is a chrome colored powdercoat? That'd be a TON easier and you wouldn't have to worry about the VC oxidizing over time either... just a thought.
