Very simple really, but I didn't notice anything about this on the site thus far.

On P11:
Open trunk.
Open passenger side jack hiding place "felt door".
Remove jack. (Not REALLY necessary but gives more room.)
Reach in behind the power antenna mast (fender side).
There is a small clump of wires (black, red, pink) that ends in a white plastic plug.
This plug goes directly INTO the antenna's body, NOT into another connector.
Press in the little "button" on the side of the plug and slide it towards the fender. (This may take a few tries.)

Voila. Radio reception has not changed even 1% for me, and no more "WRRRR...CLACK...CLACK...CLACK...CLACK" every time the stereo goes on.

hmmm perhaps look into a switch incase you run into those times where the antenna might help?

There is also a remote antenna wire that you could attach a switch to so you can decide if you need the antenna or not. Ofcourse, that would take a lot more work!
not really, that's what i was talking about in my above post. The antenna has one power wire in the back of the head unit. pull the deck, splice into that wire, run about 1' of wire down to the center console and install whatever switch you want. you can get a switch at autozone for like $10 or less. That'll take less than an hour including the trip to autozone.
