Get yourself a couple feet of Rubber U Channel.
This stuff will be your "frame".
You can find some at your local hardware store and you can get round or square edges.
Look at this website to see what I'm talking about.
Wrap it around your plate and cut the excess with a razor blade, done.
Here's a couple shots of how mine turned out:

And a close up:

i think if you tighten up the bolts really well this will definitely prevent rattling..pretty good stuff there..

pretty cool idea. Does it give some protection from rattling against the car?
I use a strip of padded tape about 1" wide across the back of the plate on the bottom, keeps it from rattling even when my 12's are pounding.

Cool idea though.

I have two JL 10s but my plate never rattled.
I guess I just had it on nice and tight from the get go.
But if you do experience rattle, I'd imagine this would help to eliminate it.

Thanks for all the compliments on how clean and subtle it looks.
That's exactly what I was shooting for.

As far as the G20.net frame, I'd like to be a supporter but I have always disliked plastic frames and the "G20" is red.
I'd consider buying it if all the letters were just plain white.
That's just me though.

There's always whiteout...

But to be honest, your DIY plate frame looks better though...

Doesn't that trap hella water? Then keeping a "wet sponge" pushed up against the paint behind the plate until it drys out 2 days later? :shifty:

I used felt chair feet thingys, cut 2 in 1/2 to make 4, 1/2 a circle for each corner. Yes. That's the technical term. Felt chair feet thingys.

That hasn't happened yet; I also live where the sky rarely drops water.
