so i was just wonderin:
say you got an amp that's like 100 rms X 4 and like 200 max X 4
but your speakers are like 60 rms and 140 max

how do you keep from blowing your speakers? can you adjust the rms and max to each speaker on the amp? thanks guys. sorry if this bugs somebody but i was just curious an didn't know where to ask.

you cant adjust the rms rating...just as long as you stay under the max then you should be cool

60rms/140 max speakers with 100 rms/200 max amp youre cool... just dont turn the amp al the way up and youll be straight

yesiree bobski. turn up = more power, turn down = less bumpage. theyre there for tuning purposes. too much power makes it sound all distorted which will make it sound like shit and will blow your speakers. keep it in the middle and adjust from there. make sure your volume is at around 75%, I believe, or so when youre tuning it.

I was gonna say your volume knob is how you save your speakers. Gain is there to match the sensitivity of your headunit, you set it once and then you forget it (never to set it again....)
