deciding if i should get a new front cover or just reseal this one .


couldnt wait to take apart everything even though its 10*F outside. (no heater in garage)


some lobes had this nasty oxidation/carbon build up , it scratched off though

Good Deal! Just picked up a VE myself.

Look forward to the finished product.

i started stripping the motor and noticed the distributor was not sitting flush with the head . Did i get screwed here , im almost 100% that this is a roller rocker dizzy(triangle style rotor shaft ) .
The VE is suppose to have a 1N5 number and one ear only correct ? I was set on using the VE dist and rewiring my current harness.

Hopefully the photos in there will help you. FYI RR and VE distributors appear to have triangle rotor shaft
thats what i used as comparison , the ve rotor shaft is round and has a screw to hold the rotor , the tabs(ears) dont allow this current dizzy to mount up . fml
Dont use the ve dizzy, just cut the bottom tab off your p11 dizzy and your done

Incorrect!!!!! P11 dizzy is no good for ve......it will fit if u cut the bottom ear off....but you wont be able to adjust the timming.Either rewire the ve dizzy or get a B15 dizzy.
use my stock dizzy and cut the tab off , wouldnt it be easier to just rewire a ve that fits in without having to cut ?

Trey, no disrespect but I think your stuck in the jim wolf ecu days. Freddy belive me, , use your stock dizzy. Yall like to make this more difficult than it really is.
And at the end of the day, if its a 99, run a step down and a b13 ecu
