Probably is. You have to buy a hub assembly, bearings aren't serviced separately. And, jack the car up and spin the wheels to see if you can find it. You may need to remove the brake caliper so it spins freely enough to tell. Use jackstands.
loud howling/rolling noise from rear.. wheel bearings?
The best way I can explain the sound is a muffled, rolling, howling noise that is coming from the rear. It happens when I accelerate past 25 mph and gets louder when I increase speed. I am leaning towards it being the wheel bearing but before I go and buy a set I am curious if anyone has encountered a similar issue. Thanks....
