Sometimes going with stock isn't a bad thing to do! :cheese:

Yesterday I installed P11 front calipers/rotors on my 96' P10. I hadn't decided on a good street pad to use that also has some good performance. I usually run the axxis metal masters or stock on the street. When I used to get out to the road course in my B13 SE-R, we always ran Hawk Blues. The only issue with Hawk Blues on the street is, they'll eat your rotors if they're not up to operating temps.

Justin recommended the Hawk HPS's.. and WOW WHAT BITE! I haven't felt brakes like these since I was using the AD22VF's on my SE-R with Hawk Blues!!

I also took some pics of the stock 257mm front P10 rotor next to the 280mm stock front P11 rotor. There is a SIZEABLE difference.

Now, I just need to install Pat's BBK upgrade for the rear of the P10 and I should be set with brakes for sometime.

I realize others have done this upgrade in the past, but it's new for me and I'm loving it! I'm also digging the stock sleeper look too. :naughty:

I'll provide some before and after pics later.

But P11s on a P10 isn't "stock" per se... Your wording is confusing! :^)

Going OEM sourced may be closer to what you mean!

I ran on the track yesterday with Hawk Blues on P10 brakes and they worked just fine on R compunds, but I didn't really push them super hard.

Now call me when I can get Hawks for the P11 brakes!

I guess I'll need 15" track wheels too...

I have a set of 280mm P11 fronts to fit and I'm currently trying to source some caliper carriers from a late P11 with 278mm rears :p

I think the P11 fronts in the UK are different from US P11s though, so pad choice will be limited :(

Just need some braided hoses now to go with the DOT 5.1 fluid I have for when I do the swap.

Yeah, yeah.. trying to brag about the euro stuff again I see. :lick:

Well I already have Pat's BBK for the rear of my P10, and the rotors are actually 290mm.

As for pad selection for the euro front P11 calipers.. heck *maybe* you should just get the USDM P11 fronts and you'll be set! ;)

I'm running the Hawk HPS and i gotta say, didn't notice that much. what else are you running? SS Lines, upgraded fluid?
Yes and yes. SS lines and Motul brake fluid. Also, these calipers were recently rebuilt and then only had like 1-2K miles on them before I got them. (They did sit on the shelf for awhile, but the seals are pretty much like new).

These are evilyak's old P11 calipers.

Calipers are heavy, can you imagine the shipping ??
There are a few pads..

And for the rear, seeing as it'll still be the P10 calipers..

Neither link worked for me.

If you really would be interested in the P11 calipers from the US.. and are worried about shipping costs.. give me a call/PM.. We've talked about the shipping thing before I think?

Or are you just anti-USDM parts? You Euro-person, you. :pirate:

Strange, they work for me :-\

Me anti USDM parts ?? Take a look at my front grille for a start, along with wheel centre caps, rear emblem and probably some other bits I can't remember right now ;)

I'd have to get pads from there too though then, and knowing me I'd leave them until almost to the metal then need some in a hurry :shifty:

I'll make do with 280mm Euro brakes all round :p

hey budo I took your advise about this setup and bought some P11's also, just need to know the location you found your pads. I looked in a few places but no luck...do I have to have a product number or something? Do I just look up Hawk HPS for the G35?
Thanks

Kyle,

Those arent brakes...

THOSE are brakes ;)

Normally I would have gone for the .81" thick Wilwood rotors, but all the kits use the 1.25" thick ones -- so shucks I just had to go with the gigantic baller brakes!

Sad thing is, they are at least double the size of the stock Z front brakes but they weigh (slightly) less!
