I have been discussing this in chat a good bit lately, but did not have a thread, so here goes.
I received a 00-02 P11 LSD transmission from [email protected] a number of years ago. [email protected] remembered it being a non-LSD trans, and it would NOT shift into 3rd or 4th gear. I left it sitting on the floor for years, while I was trying to find parts for the Nimso clutch style LSD I have had in my garage. Well to make a long story not so long, I thought I found a source to get parts for the Nimso diff, so I took the P11 trans apart. As it turns out it was an LSD trans and the not shifting issue had to do with the 3rd/4th shifting rod being installed backwards.
While the trans was apart on my bench for sometime, I got some advice from Charles (Snickers) that B15 gearing would be a GREAT setup for my P10-VE. I received a msg from someone (p10_det) on the east coast who had a B15 trans that needed the input shaft bearing replaced and would be willing to swap FD (Final Drive) and ring gear off the Diff with me. We got all the parts shipped to Snickers, and he did the swapping and shipped the parts back. (BIG THANKS to Snickers for all of his help, phone support and doing the swapping of gears on the output shaft for me.. also big thanks to p10_det for agreeing to swap FD's!)
I then installed the updated output shaft and all the other parts, and had to relearn how to get everything back together again. Once the trans was assembled, it was clutch and trans install time.
Some gotcha's on the P11/B15 trans install in a P10:
Here's a pic:
While doing the trans install, I'm also installing a new Centerforce clutch. Jon (Cavern) has beat the hell out of one of these clutches over the past few years on a road course, and it's holding up. So I'm sure it will do great for me on the street.
Here is a pic of my old clutch disk hub, see anything out of place?
I'll provide an updated status after I complete the yoke swap, and take it for a drive.

Some gotcha's on the P11/B15 trans install in a P10:
- You must swap the TOB lever from the P10 trans into the P11/B15 trans (which is setup for hydro). There is a great thread about this on the sr20forum.
- The reverse and neutral switches are bigger on the P11/B15 transmission then on the P10 trans and the connectors are different. So you'll need to get the plugs from a donor newer car, or order new.
- The shifting rod and stabilizer rod seem to hit each other when you put a P11/B15 trans in a P10. I plan to get a new yoke made that will be offset and not have issues. In the mean time I'm going to do what some of the B13 guys did on their install (swap the P11/B15 yoke with the one from a P10/B13 transmission, but rotate it 180 degree and trim a little bit of it off). Just to hold me over until I can get a yoke made for this application that is correct, can you say DMSentra/Loren?
