I'm going to just tell it like it is, not talking shit but this car gets an F+ for road worthy readiness do to everything being blown out, worn out, or just shot to shit, lets just call this part of the build restoration as lets get this damn thing road worthy to be driven safely upon the highway no joke. I'm pretty happy to finally get my hand on a VE to play with, my last friends B13 got stolen before I could do anything to it. Oh and power wise lets just say its lacking a whole lot but that will be addressed later, first thing first is to get the car sound handling wise, I cannot stand a car that feels like a bucket of loose bolts..

More prior boneheadedness! lol

Well I wonder how the fuck somebody managed to break this I tell you, bone heads....anyways does anyone happen to know if these cam bearing caps can be bought new, I could not find a part number for these on NISSAN FAST so that leading me to believe you cannot, secondly does anybody know if this particular cam bearing cap at the distributor (SR20VE) will swap with the same cam bearing cap from a (SR20DE).

More boneheadedness

Who does this kinda shit, route the wire right up against the spinning axle, I swear no love or respect for things! lol

Now this right here is just retarded, who installs a TPS backwards? Bonehead unless im just fucking missing something here lol

You just know base idle and timing was never set correctly on this thing! lol

Let's see what else, lets slam the shit out of it and drive around with loose locking collars, fuck it! lol (theres more to this that I will attack later on, theres a reason why they cam loose)

Dang I'm glad I did not convince my friend to buy this car. It was clean on the outside. Always sucks to fix someone elses problems. Hence I always hesitate when I buy a pre-modded car with a swap. Glad your fixing everything though and doing it right.

Quick question where did you get the axle?

Yea its a project car for sure, its my buddy Cono's project car im just fixing it up for him.........he got the axle from Morris Automotive here in Fontana, CA its made by SurTrack Part# NI-8115
Thanks for the response do you know if it holds up pretty good and if they charge like core charge.
If the axle is the same surtrak axle that intex sells... then its garbage. I installed this crap on my car just days before wcconvention. Too much vibration. 75mph (anything faster makes the car shake/vibrate like its gonna spit out jdm parts on the freeway) on hwy5 isnt a good thing for my vvl ride.

I will say this about "NEW" axles which this one is and therefore carrys no core cost, they suck generally!!!...because they are made up of cheap parts, namely what has failed from my first hand experience as well as seeing on this car and a hand full of other is or has been the tripod joint that fail's........but I don't wanna get all into technicalities about "NEW" vs "REMAIN" but REMAIN (from a OEM core) is always the best option next to buying OEM from the dealer new.
Worn out P11 Upper Control Arms

This is only showing a simple test of the play that exist due to worn out thrust washer surface of the bushing inside the UCA, this is the actual factory test which would measure deflection of the UCA, which in testing before on my own car and a few other Infiniti did a damn good job on the OEM UCA and I personally would only stick with OEM UCA as they are very resistant to deflection as compared to Superpro's which are very very shitty in resisting deflection, infact so shitty it would never even pass the OEM minimum standards.

Looks like you got your hand full Charlie! Cono is going to have a solid p11 after you get done with it. Congrats on the purchase cono.
Wow nice progress. I love your picture man. I'm still pretty new and picture helps a lot :)

Yea I got my work cut out for me, and I haven't even started on electrical/wiring issues let alone correcting the "tune/ECU" and relative sensors and adjustment of things and what not of the of this SR20VE so it could be demmed to be in good working reliable order....smh lol
