That pic of the BTCC engine shows the head installed in the conventional manner. I had always understood that they turned the head around on those engines...curious!?! :-\

28/8/01 - SPEEDWORKS JUN S13 (700+ HP)

With 600hp out of a wet block 4 cylinder most people would be suitably impressed. However Speedworks quest to have the highest horse powered 4 cylinder in Australia saw the crew spending more time trying to extract even more horses out of the SR20DET.

On the morning of the 25th August 2001, their efforts were rewarded. An unbelievable 732hp at the wheels was recorded at Perth's GENIE Performance Exhaust Dyno, in the presence of a small crowd that included:

Stephen Wilkinson From ELF Racing
Members of the Silvia Car Club of WA
Driftworks.org

(Dyno Chart available for viewing)
Details of Run:

Fuel: ELF TurboMax 101.8 RON Unleaded
Boost: 1.9 Bar
Dyno: DynoJet dyno, Set up and Run by Staff of Genie Performance Exhaust centre

What's next for the JUN SR20DET?

Possibilities are endless, being a wet block the engine may find itself in use for street, track or even drag racing, (imagine a 4 cylinder dragster that can drive itself back to the pits?) Rumors are flying fast as to the final destination of the engine. Speedworks has remained tight lipped about what is happening but have said that they will be announcing their intentions soon.

The SR20DET was using full JUN components & ELF Racing Fuels and oils.
