Just found another 00' B15 SE engine. It has the orange/green intake cam! Going to grab the motor tomorrow and verify the VIN and engine tags. The funny part is that it's a 5 speed car... The last 00' 5 speed engine we grabbed had the orange/black intake cam so we figured that maybe only the autos in 00' got the orange/green cam... Guess we will see when I get the tag numbers checked tomorrow.

Vin tags on the engine matched the car. The head is marked 4R and came factory with the green cam. Also CC'd it and it's 44cc / 9.8:1 CR. So it is looking like year or transmission type doesn't make a difference in what cams came in the car. Hopefully the 4R and 5R head all have the same green cam... Guess we will find out when another comes to the junk yard.

I understand the roller rocker arms began in the G20 in 2000. When did the roller rocker arms begin in the Nissan Sentra? I found this thread on Short Block Component Weights . In post #1, it looks like the B15 Sentra's were the first to have roller rocker arms. Can someone confirm this?

I pulled parts from a 1999 year Sentra (7/99 production date), and it had a roller rocker-style engine. Maybe it was a replacement engine? Or maybe the RR engine in the Sentra started in 7 of 1999.

It had a replacement from a later car. If it was a model year 99 car, it had standard rockers.

only engine that may have had it prior to MY2000 would be a JDM engine. I think they may have had rollers since 97ish but not positive
