Strut Upgrade

For many reasons in which I do not with to discuss on this thread, I am looking to improve the handling on my P11 as much as possible whilst maintaining the factory ride height using factory springs. I'm fine with some firmer ride harshness and I have gone through most all of the bushings and replaced them with ES ones already.

I have been looking at the Koni Specials, the Bilstein B6, and the KYB AGX struts. Which would you all perfer out of these replacement struts?

You'll gain almost nothing if limited to the oem springs. If its ride height you want to retain I'd recommend finding one of the coil-over kits that can be set for oem height. If it's the softness you want to retain then the GR2 may be your best best. I've heatd repotts that the AGX lack control even though they can be adjusted a lot firmer. A stiff damping with a soft spring isn't god, they should be matched to make it work wrll.
I should add some to that.
A low profile, wider tire, in a +1size will make a good increase in handling, as will getting better bushings all around like you've started on. A set of subframe and crossmember bushings will also make a big difference.
True, if you have harsh dampers on soft springs, even tho the springs will be soft, the car will feel odd.
Your best bet would be coilovers, You could maintain an oem ride height, and have it MUCH stiffer.

But like loren said, just get wider tires, those will do much more for handling then coilovers can do.
Think of it like this: Coils will put the tires down more, therefore working the tires harder. But if you have terrble and skinny tires to start off, although the car will feel like it can handle better (and it will), it can only handle as well as the tires you have on it.
So changing to wider tires will net more body roll, but in actuality, you will be able to push the car harder before you lose the point of adhesion.
Okay thank you all for the reply. I've driven an udnersprung car before when I had my SRT-4 Neon, I had upgraded the sway bars front and rear and all of the suspension bushings w/prothanes from front to back you name it. That car had factory springs and on AGX's... I have also owned an SRT-4 Caliber and I had BC Coilovers with an aggressive drop and pretty firm settings on the dampers. I loved that car but ended up selling it due to unfortunate circumstances, so anyways, the G20 is going to be my factory ride height car with upgraded dampers...

I considered coilovers again for this car with a very mild drop from stock (less than an inch); I called up KSport and they told me that I would be able to attain max height as 1 much as 1" lower. If somebody knows about a set that can go factory height please let me know; or if anybody knows another solution that I do not know about let me know please it would be greatly appreciated.
Get the best handling that I can get with the factory springs, period. The reason I want to stay with the factory ride height is because of the vibrations that I would get from the axles when lowered on S.Techs, not to mention the roads around here in the Houston area are horrible, and I mean that literally and I'm tired of the front struts bottoming out and it feeling like the front of the car is going to explode. No more lowered with this car, thats not what I want and I've put tons of thought into it. Thanks!

Also while I'm at it I may as well ask if there is a company that makes an upgraded front sway bar for our cars? As for the rear I noticed that Stillen doesn't seem to make the rear kit anymore. Thanks!
The axle issues, and I had replaced them both with reman ones, thats the main reason, I get a lifetime free replacement with these and I just simply can't afford the OEM ones right now. And the car takes to potholes (that come out of nowhere) much better at factory height.
So it has nothing to do with factory springs then, only factory ride height you're after. Big difference.
I hold true to my suggestion to find aftermarket coil-overs that will adjust to factory height then. You can get spring and damping rates to make the care behave considerably better than the soft oem springs will offer.

Ok thanks I'll do my research and find some coilovers that will do that for me.
