I have a 1994 P10 5-speed and my Tach bounces and after a 1/2 hour of driving it will stop working. I do not use the tach, but the bouncing and when it stops working is a nuisance. If not a costly fix I will attempt it, but if a big job...
Any input would be helpful.

General consensus is that it is either a failed solder joint or electrolytic capacitor on the tachometer's circuit board.

Either you'll know how to fix this, or you shouldn't. Replacing the gauge is easiest.
