Hello folks, need some advice please. I recently got a sweet deal on a 96 G20T with the slowmatic tranny that's busted. Wanted to swap in a JDM auto tranny just to keep it reliable as a daily driver. Of course in the future I'll do a manual/5spd swap, but not now. My question is, can I bolt on the JDM auto tranny to it? Is there something different about the JDMs that make it incompatible?

There are a lot of different auto transmissions available for the SR. They'll all bolt up, but most of them will not work correctly with the USDM computer. You really need to try and find an auto trans from a 94-96 P10 (I think the 99 P11 works too, but I'm not 100% sure).
