So I thought about it today, (long and hard) and I decided to make the current G long drawn out project! If scooterz can have a project as long as his, so can I! I'm thinkin of a v6 from an s10 of maybe a chevy small block or something and cut out the firewall. You know, just do something that isn't supposed to be done! Any good ideas? And i'm serious to! It might take a while but you all know what happens when people get crazy ideas!

lets say you actually did this...
wouldn't the added weight up front mess
up the cars suspension/handling?
Not if if cut back into the firewall to allow the motor to set back a bit, battery in the trunk, and the rear end would balance it out nicely.

I would forget the v-6 and go with a small block.

change your screen name to oddjob too

jk why not, the 4.3 v6 is almost like the chevy 350 minus two cylinders... will it be realiable? no. good mpg? no.. but then again with all the things we do in life especially as tuners is not practical at all

mmm the motors out of the s-10 are pretty slow dude its a big ass motor a 4.3l and only produces like 170-180hp. i kno this because my brother has one for shows. its good on top end but if original theyre garbage. things to make it fast, chip, max out the injectors and a intake. ull b making aroudn the 200 mark and about 220-230ftlbs of torque. if i was you just build up a sr20det:)

Shoe-horning a V6 under the bonnet of a Primera will make it nose heavy, so don't expect it to go round corners too fast...
I looked into this a few years back with a V6 out of a QX driving the front wheels of a P10. I dismissed dropping it into the engine bay due to a number of reasons; eg, space, weight distribution, ect. However, a mid engined V6 driving the rear wheels did seem possible. Basically, remove the rear seats, relocate the fuel tank, cut out the floor, build a new fire wall, and a million other things. It would make in interesting project but it's just blue sky dreaming....

now your screen name makes sence :)
search the sr20deforum for the new maxima 3.5 in a sentra. that's a much better swap, and almost the same weight, just a few pounds heavier. you have turbo hp and weight with a N/a motor. and you'll keep it in the same family with half the work. much better option in my opinion

Ford made a great small displacement lightweight V6 in the 70's and 80's that found its way into numerous sports cars from England and elsewhere. They made them in 2.6 and 2.8 liter capacities. Lots of aftermarket speed options. This would most likely fit.
Another engine to consider is the VW narrow angle V6 that was put into the VW Corrado. I believe this engine was supercharged. The narrow angle V6 would probably fit in the G and it was designed for front wheel drive.

are you talking about the vr6 family? those have a very interesting design to them and would probably fit in the g's engine bay.

fuckit get a 5.0 out of a stang put it on a ranger or s-10 chassi bout the only thing that would be nissan would be the body an it would have to be widened and all sorts of stuff. i thought about it too. i turned an escort into a wheelstander but it was just not worth it. although it was awesome
