Damn. I wrote up a whole long message and then clicked "SUBMIT REPLY" and I got a "Page Cannot Be Viewed", then went back and lost the entire message. Oh well. Here goes again..
cas: I don't mind you using the picture at all or any images. Images are to help other's, educate and of course show off.
rmjjensen: I have no problem w/ you or anyone getting the IMPUL kit. Why would I? If you want it, get it - don't be discouraged that I have it or that I would care if someone else got it.
I didn't announce that I got the kit. I don't know why, but I guess I didn't want it to seem that I was bragging about it or something.. dunno. I know that when I see a nicer looking G20/Primera than mine, I get jealous and feel down ..lol.. so I didn't want to go on the board and be like "IMPUL KIT INSTALLED, YEE RESPECT" or something and get everyone hating me because I got the kit or whatever.
The Altia spoiler costs about $800 USD w/o shipping. I know, because I asked Luke about it as well and have been looking into it. I think it's a great looking spoiler. Not overly dramatic or big like the IMPUL spoiler. It works nicely with the G20/Primera and has no T bar, which I like. Looks somewhat like the stock Primera spoilers.
The Gray bumper I don't believe is cutout, but rather painted black to make it look like there's a hole there. If he cut the bumper out, then the exhaust and everything would be visible and that would look odd. You could always put a mesh in the cutout area, but then that would look too honda-ish.
The re-bars were somewhat of an issue. I tried to fit the bumper on with the rebars, minus the foam, but to no avail. So you do have to remove both the front and rear re-bars. There's no way around it, unless you have a welding machine and lots of time, then you can weld the rebars shorter and thinner and the bumpers might fit. No one will remove the re-bars for you and I know this, because I asked around, including the dealership. It's all a liability issue. If someone removes those rebars for you and you get in an accident and lose your legs, then you know what can happen - they will get sued or get in trouble for it. So you are going to have to remove them yourself. It's not difficult at all. The rear is very simple. The front was a little more difficult.
The installation was pretty easy.. took a couple days, because the instructions didn't quite translate since JDM Primera's have a slightly different body shape. In the end I had to get my bumpers re-inforced at a body shop, because after I followed the Japanese instructions, the bumpers were still dangling (not much to hold them up). In the end, I think it was worth the time and money. As you can see, the rear of the car now is more "flat" and "flush" with the trunk area, because of the shorter IMPUL bumepers, minus the rebars.
Some say Japanese cars don't have re-bars, while other's say they are smaller. I don't know which one is true. If you want to try and fit the Japanese re-bars (if they exist), you'll have a fun time trying to find someone that can get them for you. Luke can't. Some bodies shop may be able to do so, but it's going to cost you. Is it worth it to get Japanese re-bars and try to fit them, again if they exist, I don't think so.
Atomic you are one freakin humble man...If I got that kit I would be jumping with joy and tell the world.
Oh and your rear looks much better than that grey one. hahahaha werd
I would have to say that japenese cars do have re-bars because if you've ever been to japan there are a shit load of cars in that small island and accidents occur all the time especially fender benders. I would venture to say that there are re-bars but smaller ones. Don't quote me on that.
But yep you get my vote for best looking G20. damn freakin kit LOOKS SO DAMN FREAKIN PHAT!!!
Oh and like g20sport2002 said...I hate you too. hahahahhaha
I never really considered the smoked headlights. I really hate taking the headlights off - pain in the arse . I might what stealth did. Do you think it would make a bigger difference? I had considered the JDM headlights, but too much of a hassle with all the work needed etc.
The grille. I got a few grilles coming in soon (lol) .. so that chrome grille will be no longer.
It would be great to have products readily available for our G20's .. like there are for Honda's etc. We could throw our cars into a shop and get a bunch of things done to them, but instead we have to wait months for products from Japan, .. kind of stalls things.
