My family (mom, dad, lil sis) are going on vacation for July 4th (from 07/02-07/07), and we reserved a place on Ocean Ave. in Wildwood, NJ. My gf and I decided to tag along. I researched and found that Wildwood had great beaches and lots to do (family stuff). Anyone got any input on this place?

north jersey beaches are exactly as fancypants described.. lol (dont go to seaside hights... :dead: )

wildwood is real nice now.. it used to be a crap hole about 3~ish years ago.. since then they revamped it to a 'new wildwood' built a convention center, cleaned up the town, and geared it more towards familys and not drunk partys.

my pops had a house down there for sometime till he sold it and moved to florida. so i know wildwood. its a nice place, ocean ave is right close to the beach and the boardwalk, its got a decent nighttime too. overall youll enjoy it im sure, its becoming one of the better shores in jersey (i would go to wildwood more often, but ocean city is closer for me =D )

I actually went to a carshow back in the day at Wildwood NJ. Its pretty mucha quiet town and the beaches are nice. We didnt really roam around much, but its pretty much a quiet town with a nice beach view.
Ya they said it was a normal quiet town during off-peak seasons. I guess around 5000 people live there, but it goes to up 25000 around peak times. We're going to be there for the 4th of July, so I'm guessing there'll be a lot of people there.

I wentto Wildwood every summer when I lived in Philly growing up. It is usually nice but holiday weekends it is way too packed - A lot of wanna be GOTTI boys walking around - stay off the main beach during peak hours - nightlife is fun but tame -

Buy some Saltwater Taffy and " Watch the Tram Car Please !! "

Kahren - I spent a weekend in Cape May & Wildwood last year with the woman, maybe a 45 min drive apart... Cape May: the homes are beautiful, each painted a different color with brick lined street and horse carriage rides thru town. The commercial strip are real nice for couples old and young so you the woman and the parents will def enjoy that.

Wildwood is no more different than Hampton Beach NH - you got your families, your teens, some thugz... you'll all enjoy the boardwalk stroll too.

Seaside Heights is everything everyone else said though hahhahah

how was the trip?
The trip was awesome. My family, gf and myself loved Wildwood. There was a lot of stuff to do, and we were always busy checking things out. Our place was right next to the boardwalk, which is right next to the ocean. The boardwalk has everything....food, stores, three amusement parks, two waterparks. However, if I hear 'watch the tram car please' one more time....haha. We went up to Atlantic City during our stay in NJ, that was good. Too bad all the casino's were closed down, but oh well. Overall it was great, and I'd love to go back.
