Windows and Wipers move slow after AC belt bypass

564 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  essarr
I seem to have a new problem every time I fix another...

Replaced the belt yesterday to bypass the AC because the AC pulley was bad.. fixed the scraping sound and sluggish drive, but now the wipers move really slowly and windows roll down slow too

Switching the wiper to highest setting increases it to what it should be at low speed

Radio, fan, lights and heated seats all work fine

Anyone know what's going on?

Check your alternator output voltage. The alt belt might be slipping.
Yah I think the alternator is going bad; battery died today

Gonna try tightening the belt some more and check voltage right now and report back

Can't wrap my head around whyyyyy it had to die after replacing the belt!! The only thing I did was tap on it with the back end of a screw driver to tilt it down a bit to get the belt on... I didn't smash into it or anything :(
